We Are All Born Glued to the World.

In line with Corona time, our society is literally stuck in the fast lane. It won’t go on like this, maximising profits regardless of losses, and we should all become more aware of what we’re passionate about and dedicate our convictions to, says Marco Spitzar.

Conceptual artist and media expert

Such statements are easy to say for artists; they have their focus firmly set on their subject and create their world as best they can. Not all, but many of them have an easy time pushing their own personal story. Marco Spitzar believes that a convincing artist usually only has one good idea in life and can then bring it to life and refine it with relish, so to speak. You don't need a huge new creative boost every day. It is much more interesting to continue to think about one's own theme in nuances. There are no distractions, you keep on going without regard for comforts, and there is no end and no retirement.

Spitzar believes

„that we come into the world with our glued images already formed and that it’s difficult for us to detach ourselves from our often implanted ideas.“

For this, he also always uses motifs of cleaning, of baths. The glued world was triggered by his fascination with the properties and feel of the UHU glue. He has been experimenting with it since his school days and has found his own unique techniques of pictorial experience and implementation. At first, in complete seclusion and in private, he made hundreds of small drawings that he coated with UHU glue and which appear as if they were encased in amber. Now, the seductive moments of shine and shimmer can be discovered more and more on large natural canvases. His cultural subjects are distinguished above all by a yellow Cabin Dress and usually have a "flinke Flasche" ("twist and glue bottle") at the ready. Spitzar says: "I don't need more big inventions to develop and the somewhat naive, childlike approach is important so as not to get too uptight and sophisticated."

That's what he often has in mind for all creative entrepreneurs: once they have found their core, they should keep at it and simplify the complex world, because it doesn't get any easier out there in the combat zone. Lucky are those who can easily lower their expectations and develop their own story in a meaningful way by themselves.

By the way, the glued world with its many drawings and natural canvases is easy to explore on the new art website: marcospitzar.com
